La Vitrine I
Sara: Friday. Lunchtime. We want to have a really, really great meal. We try for the Rose Bakery on rue des Martyrs, but it’s packed. Bummer. Our list of restaurant recommendations includes Table 28, around the corner at 28 rue de la Tour d’Auvergne. Victory!
Turns out, Table 28 no longer exists. We only learn this after sitting down and starting to order. It’s been replaced by La Vitrine, which JUST opened (I mean like four days ago) in the tiny space. Kobi, the owner, is an Israeli chef who lived in New York and spent years working for Alain Ducasse. He was very sweet. He was also our waiter.
